Mun Mazhalai (முன் மழலை): Ages 4+

Identify pictures in Tamil (fruits, vegetables, animals, sea creatures, insects, colors, tastes, directions and shapes etc.). Storytelling by looking at pictures. Listening to children's songs. Coloring the given images. Learning about thirty simple words. படங்களைப் பார்த்துப் பெயர்களைக் கூறுதல். படங்களைப் பார்த்துக் கதை கூறுதல். குழந்தைப் பாடல்களைக் கேட்டுப் பாடுதல். கொடுக்கப்பட்ட படங்களுக்கு வண்ணம் தீட்டுதல். சுமார் முப்பது எளிய சொற்களைக் கற்றறிதல். ஒன்று முதல் பத்து வரை கூறுதல்.

Mazhalai (மழலை): Ages 5+

In this level students learn songs, stories, colors, numbers and primary alphabets (உயிர் எழுத்துகள் - அ, ஆ....ஒள) are taught. இந்த நிலையில் பயிலும் மாணவர்கள் உயிர் எழுத்துகள், சில பாடல்கள் மற்றும் கதைகளுடன் சுமார் ஐம்பது எளிய சொற்களைக் கற்றறிதல்.

Nilai-1 (நிலை-1): Ages 5+

In this level kids will learn songs, stories, Aathichudi, write & identify alphabets - உயிர் எழுத்துகள் (அ, ஆ...ஒள) and மெய் எழுத்துகள் (க்,ங், ச்....ன்), names of fruits, pet animals, vegetables, wild animals, birds, different types of vehicles, farm animals, colors, days of the week, numbers, flowers, rhymes and about 100 words. இந்த நிலையின் முடிவில் உயிர், மெய் எழுத்துக்களுடன், சில கதைகள், பாடல்கள், ஆத்திசூடி, படங்களைப் பார்த்து அதன் பெயர்களைக் கூறல். எளிய சொற்கள், வாக்கியங்களை உச்சரிக்கப் பயிற்சி. எளிய முறை எழுத்துப் பயிற்சி. மற்றும் சுமார் நூறு எளிய தமிழ்ச் சொற்களைக் கற்றறிதல்.

Nilai-2 (நிலை-2): Ages 6+; pre-requisite/தகுதி: Completed ATA Nilai 1

In this level kids will learn songs, stories, Thirukural, write alphabets and basic words from உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துகள் up to க் + ஏ series - combining alphabets and consonants to form compound Transliteration; for this purpose, the alphabets are split into two and first half is taught in level 2 and the other half in level 3. Compounding using new set of word formation and identifying nouns and verbs using simple sentences are taught. Learn about 250 words at the end of this level. தமிழ் எழுத்துக்களில் எ வரிசை உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துகள் வரை பயிற்றுவித்தல். பெயர்ச்சொற்கள் மட்டுமன்றி, வினைச்சொற்களையும், அவற்றின் மூலம் உருவான எளிதான சொற்றொடர்களையும் பயிலுதல். ஒவ்வொரு பாடத்திலும் திருக்குறள், ஆத்திசூடி, கதைகள், பழமொழிகள் மற்றும் பாடல்கள் கற்றறிதல்.

Nilai-3 (நிலை-3): Ages 7+; pre-requisite/தகுதி: Completed ATA Nilai 2

In this level we concentrate on identifying and writing all alphabets, read, write & comprehend short sentences, rhymes Thirukural, stories, proverbs etc.; encourage to read aloud in Tamil to improve their pronunciation. Most importantly kids develop the habit of reading independently, understand and translate simple stories and engage in active conversation. Introduction of the culture and literature. சிறு வாக்கியங்களைப் படித்து புரிந்து கொள்ளுதல், எழுதுதல். சிறுகதைகளை உள்வாங்கி கருத்தை கிரகித்தல். சொற்களைத் தெளிவாக உச்சரித்தல், கலந்துரையாட கற்றல். மொழியின் தொன்மை, கலாசாரம் இலக்கியத்தின் அறிமுகம். சொல் கருத்து பிழையின்றி மொழி மாற்றம் செய்தல்.

Nilai-4 (நிலை-4): Ages 7+; pre-requisite/தகுதி: Completed ATA Nilai 3

In this level kids will learn songs, stories, Thirukural, forming and writing sentences and Tamil Grammar-Nouns, Pronouns, Verbs, Tenses. Basic grammar usage in sentence formation, change sentences and understand its meaning based on tenses. Eight different Prepositions are studied. பெயர்ச்சொற்கள், சுட்டுப்பெயர் பல்வேறு வினைச்சொற்கள் காலநிலைகளை அறிதல். அடிப்படை இலக்கணங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி வாக்கியங்களை அமைத்தல். வினைச்சொற்களை பயன்படுத்துதல். கால சூழ்நிலையைப் பொருத்து வாக்கியங்களை மாற்றியமைத்தல். எட்டு வகையான வேற்றுமை உருபுகளை அறிதல்.

Nilai-5 (நிலை-5): Ages 8+; pre-requisite/தகுதி: Completed ATA Nilai 4

In this level kids will learn to read, write and understand sentences, translate and understand cultural songs, compare to English and learn words, sentences and grammar; learn, recite and understand Thirukkural. Learn the following parts of grammar - Verb classes, adjective, adverb, negative infinitives, conditional words, compound words, positive, comparative and superlative degrees, continuous tense, interrogative words, subject, predicate and object, simple and compound sentences, active, passive voices and conjunctions. வாக்கியங்களைத் தெளிந்த உச்சரிப்போடு பிழையின்றி படித்தல், புரிந்து கொள்ளுதல், எழுதுதல். மொழி மாற்றம் செய்தல்; பண்பாடு மற்றும் இலக்கியம் சார்ந்த பாடங்கள் படித்து தெளிவுபட கருத்துக்களை வெளிப்படுத்தல். வாக்கியங்கள், கருத்துக்கள், வார்த்தைகள் மற்றும் இலக்கணத்தை ஆங்கில மொழியோடு ஒப்பிட்டுப் பயிலுதல். திருக்குறளின் தொன்மை அறிந்து, தெளிவுபடப் படித்து விளக்கம் சொல்லுதல். இலக்கணத்தைப் பாட மற்றும் பயிற்சி நூல்களின் வாயிலாக பயிலுதல். வினைப்பாகுபாடுகள், பெயரடை, வினையடை, எதிர்மறை வினையச்சம், நிபந்தனைச் சொற்கள், இயல்பு/விகாரப் புணர்ச்சி, ஒப்பீட்டு அடைகள், தொடர்வினைகள், வினாச் சொற்கள், எழுவாய்/பயனிலை/செயப்பாடு பொருள், தனி மற்றும் கூட்டு வாக்கியங்கள் கலப்பு மற்றும் கதம்ப வாக்கியங்கள், வினா வாக்கியங்கள், செய்வினை, செயப்பாட்டு வினை, இணைப்புச் சொற்கள் கற்றறிதல்.

Nilai-6 (நிலை-6): Ages 9+; pre-requisite/தகுதி: Completed ATA Nilai 5

In this level, kids will be able to more accurately read, write and understand sentences, translate and understand cultural songs, compare to English and learn words, sentences and grammar. Be able to read conversational Tamil lessons and understand its meaning. Practice writing short passages and letter writing and be able to read and complete a story. Learn the following parts of grammar- Verb classes, Declension, Implied Verbs and Nouns, Simile and metaphor, Post position, Auxiliary verbs, Direct and indirect speech, Derivative and primitive words, Slang and Idioms. இந்த நிலையில், குழந்தைகள் இன்னும் துல்லியமாக வாசிக்கவும், எழுதவும், புரிந்துக்கொள்ளவும், கலாச்சார பாடல்களை மொழிபெயர்க்கவும், ஆங்கிலத்துடன் ஒப்பிட்டு வார்த்தைகள், வாக்கியங்கள் மற்றும் இலக்கணங்களைக் கற்றுக்கொள்ளவும் முடியும். பேச்சுத் தமிழில் அமைந்திருக்கும் உரையாடல் பாடங்களை பயின்று பொருளறிதல். எளிமையான கட்டுரை, கடிதம் எழுதுதல். கதையைப் படித்து புரிந்துக் கொண்டு விடுபட்ட பகுதியை நிறைவு செய்தல். வினைப்பாகுபாடுகள், வேற்றுமையுருபுகள், வினைத்தொகை / பண்புத்தொகை, உவமை / உருவகம், சொல்லுருபு, தொடர்வினைகள், துணைவினைகள், நேர்க்கூற்று, நேரல்கூற்று, பகுபதம், பகாப்பதம், மரபுத்தொடர் / வழக்குத்தொடர், கொச்சைச்சொல், மரப மொழி கற்றறிதல்

Nilai-7 (நிலை-7) : Ages 10+; pre-requisite: Completed ATA Nilai 6

Learning and understanding conversational lessons. Simple essay, letter writing. Read and understand the story and complete the missing parts. Grammatical vocabulary types, interjections, synonyms, conditional and other verb types. பேச்சுத் தமிழில் அமைந்திருக்கும் உரையாடல் பாடங்களை பயின்று பொருளறிதல். எளிமையான கட்டுரை, கடிதம் எழுதுதல். கதையைப் படித்து புரிந்துக் கொண்டு விடுபட்ட பகுதியை நிறைவு செய்தல். இலக்கண சொல் வகைகள, வேற்றுமை வகைகள், சொல்லுருபு, நிகழ்தகவு, ஏகார, ஓகார, உம்மை இடைச்சொற்கள், என, என்று – இடைச்சொற்கள், இணைமொழி, நிபந்தனை வினை (conditional verb), காரண வினை (casual verb), கூட்டு வினை கற்றறிதல்.

Nilai-8 (நிலை-8) : Ages 10+; pre-requisite/தகுதி: Completed ATA Nilai 7

Moral Stories, Purananuru Songs (classical Tamil poetic work), Sangam Songs, Sentence types and Verb forms, Tenali Raman Stories, Tamil Essay Writing, Read and translate news items, understand the difference between spoken Tamil and written Tamil, Descriptive Writing & case sequences. நீதி கதைகள், புறநானூறு பாடல், சங்கப் பாடல்கள், தமிழில் வாக்கிய வகைகளும் வினை வடிவங்களும், தெனாலி ராமன் கதைகள், தமிழ்க் கட்டுரை எழுதப் பயிற்சி, செய்தித்தாள் தமிழ்ச் செய்திகளைப் படித்து மொழிபெயர்ப்பது, பேச்சுத் தமிழ்-எழுத்துத் தமிழ் வேறுபாடுகள் அறிதல், விவரித்து எழுதுதல், வழக்கு தொடர்கள் அறிதல்.

Spoken/Conversational Tamil: Ages 7+

Whether you are a Beginner, or perhaps you understand Tamil but have difficulty in speaking, this class will help you to overcome shyness and start speaking Tamil more fluently in a consistent, comfortable, sustained and spontaneous manner. Students learn grammar (parts of speech, tenses, verb types etc.) and spoken dialect in a relaxed way. Proficiency is achieved by engaging in active conversation, using common vocabulary in everyday dialogues and comprehending stories by listening to short audio files, watching videos etc.

Mugai Nilai: Adult Continuing Education

This class will benefit anyone who wishes to communicate in Tamil. You can learn culture-specific greetings and common phrases and everyday dialogues. This class will also benefit students who are non-natives willing to learn Tamil just for understanding and speaking a new language with grammatical accuracy, appropriate vocabulary and degree of fluency. It goes over Tamil pronunciation, basic grammar, forming useful phrases, listening and understanding colloquial dialogues and theme-based spoken Tamil.
